TOFU Mushroom Bedside Lamp Touch Control Review
The TOFU is the only mushroom lamp we tested with a built-in sleep timer. Set it to 30 or 60 minutes and it shuts off automatically. That one feature makes it the best choice for falling asleep to soft light.

The sleep timer
Hold the touch sensor for 3 seconds to activate the 30-minute timer. Hold again to switch to 60 minutes. The lamp dims slightly over the last 5 minutes before shutting off. This gradual fade is a nice touch. It means you are less likely to notice it going dark.
For people who fall asleep reading or watching TV, this feature alone justifies the $32 price versus the $28 MIUCOLOR. You do not have to reach for the lamp in the dark to turn it off.
Dimmer quality
Passed our flicker test at all three brightness levels. The lowest level is comfortable for a dark bedroom and does not trigger eye strain. The highest level is bright enough to read for short periods, though not a replacement for a dedicated reading lamp.
Dual power is useful
USB and AC options mean you can plug into a nightstand USB hub or a wall outlet. The AC adapter option is more stable for overnight use than USB since USB port power delivery can vary depending on the host device.
Who should buy it
Buy the TOFU if you regularly fall asleep with the light on or if you read in bed. The sleep timer is the feature that separates it from all other options in this roundup. At $32 it is the most expensive lamp here, but the timer functionality is worth it for bedside use.
Verdict
4.6 / 5
Best mushroom lamp for bedside use. The sleep timer is genuinely useful. Flicker-free dimming, dual power, 5-foot cord. Worth the extra $4 over the MIUCOLOR if you read or fall asleep to light.
