Real ceramic makes a difference

Most mushroom lamps use resin or plastic that is painted to look like ceramic. The Mainstays uses actual ceramic. You can feel the weight (about 1.5 pounds) and the slightly cool, smooth texture. The glaze finish is even and does not have the hollow sound of resin when tapped.

This makes the lamp look more expensive than $22. On a shelf or nightstand, it reads as a boutique find rather than an Amazon impulse buy. It is the best-looking lamp in our lineup for adults with minimal or natural decor styles.

Stability: best we tested

The ceramic base is 4.5 inches wide and 1.5 pounds. It did not budge on our 15-degree tilt test. Even a firm horizontal push did not tip it. The AC cord with an inline switch means no touch-sensitive parts to fail. Simple, reliable design.

Light quality

Single warm white tone at about 2700K. Soft, diffused through the fabric shade. No dimmer on this model, just on or off. That is the main trade-off versus the MIUCOLOR. If you want to dim a lamp by the bedside, get the MIUCOLOR. If you just want a lamp on or off and you value aesthetics, this is the better choice.

Buy the Mainstays if you want a mushroom lamp that looks like real decor rather than a novelty item. Great for adults, minimalist rooms, natural color palettes, or as a housewarming gift. Skip it if you need color modes or dimming.
